Google Maps Update

If you haven’t already you need to go into the Android Market and download the newest version of Google Maps. I really have no idea why this wasn’t included in the 1.5 update but the good news is that it is out and it is cool. There are several new little features and here is a snapshot:  Voice search, more comprehensive support for Latitude, detailed business information, and pedestrian / mass transit navigation.

We are still a little dissapointed in the Google Latitude project as a whole but something tells me they are working on it day and night to add the features that so many of us are dying for. The whole pedestrian & mass transit navigation are really cool if you live in a big city and actually travel by Metro or by foot.

This came on my HTC hero. Looks like the old maps won’t be supported anymore.
