UPDATE: THIS POST IS OLDER. TRY CLICKING HERE FOR A MORE UPDATED POST ABOUT FOURSQUARE
If you haven’t already downloaded the new version of Foursquare for Android you are missing out. Foursquare (along with Groupon) have been the 2010 internet all stars generating HUGE revenue and giving small businesses new ways to reach out to the social networking community. We wrote a post several months ago about Foursquare and how it can be used/applied by advertisers but now Foursquare has improved their Android App.
The new app is much more appealing to the eye and feels smoother. In addition to the friends, places, and Me tabs that have always been there, Foursquare has now added to-dos and tips to the main navigation. Its easier than ever to contribute content to the social network by leaving tips for the next visitor to the restaurant where you just ate or the store where you just got your favorite shoes on sale.
You are also now able to see friend requests from the Me tab and refresh the me data when you wish. These improvements have gone a long way to encourage use of the app. Before many of us were tempted to utilize the YELP checkin options or perhaps Gowalla.
