And Then Real Life Caught Up
It’s been a few weeks since I’ve been able to sit down and work at Android Social Media. It wasn’t a planned break; essentially, real life caught up with me. In the last six months I’d already left one job, worked as a contractor for five weeks, emigrated, started training for another job, remarried, acquired three step children (no, step teenagers) and before you know it, have been given the keys to a very busy and talented IT department for a specialist IT consultancy services business.
The scary thing is that all of the above is absolutely something I can, have and will deal with and handle. If you ask some of my colleagues, friends and family, they might tell you that I can or at least probably can handle this. I’m bringing a little bit of British “charm” to an American organisation, but under the surface shouldn’t I be:
Can I handle this? Yes, but something had to give, and in the short term that was Android Social Media. Oopsie.
For the time being, I have had to reprioritise my life. It means less time spent pouring over Android bits and pieces and more time spent working.
Things will gradually get back to a new normal…
