  1. so does this mean the update is gonna be pushed out OTA soon or are they just playing with us?

Yes. It is being pushed out right now! Some users have already gotten the update. Watch for it OTA any day now if you haven’t already received it.

I have noticed that the phone often takes two calls (receiving) to wake up even in 3G. That is callers go directly to tmo voice mail and the phone never rings even though it has a strong 3G signal.

I don’t see anything in this release that may address that problem. Could it be had hardware or is this a known common problem?

I’ve never noticed that issue before and I’ve never heard of anyone else having a problem. Getting the new update may solve the issue not just because its newer and better but because it will clean up the cache in the phone and generally solve little software issues. If that does not work try wiping the phone and see if that doesn’t clear out the cobwebs.

The OTA went out on May 11th and will get everyone by the end of the month. You will start seeing the trickle down soon.

What about the 3 way calling issue? You make a call the manage call to end the second call and can’t get back to the initial call forcing you to hang up and redial! This has happend on my G1, my wife’s G1 and her replacement.

This has not occurred on either of our G1’s. I do conference calls 3x a week and have not experienced that issue. Refer to your owners manual to verify its not a user error.
