The Cosmic Watch: Time and Space App Review
Anyone who knows me, knows I am a stargazer. I’ve always been drawn to the stars, constantly researching as many galaxies as I can. I am a proud owner of my very own celestial map, also thanks to an Etsy artist, I have my very own cusp constellations art. So when I was asked to write a review for the Cosmic Watch app, I was beyond excited. I had heard about their dedication and, sleek app on amateur astronomy boards. Getting my greedy little hands on their Cosmic Watch app became a new challenge I was more than willing to accept.
Once I finally had the watch installed on my Samsung Galaxy S7, I was beyond thrilled. When I opened it at first glance, I was overwhelmed, not to say intimidated. I didn’t know where to begin or how to even work the app’s phases. Having a dynamic 3D celestial map at your fingertips almost made me cry tears of joy and run for the hills at the same time. I know it’s a total contradiction but, it’ll make sense once you get your hands on the app. Am I discouraging from getting the app? Not at all. Am I advising you to study astrology a little bit before getting the app? Absolutely! The app is an astrology heaven for all aficionados.
Now let’s get you some details. Cosmic Watch will lock on a major city near you, not the city where you are located. To me it was a bummer since I live in the biggest metropolitan area in the East Coast, USA. In the world’s globe it will show your location as well the solar system at it’s current time. You can zoom in and zoom out to view any details on the map, spin the world around, twist its views from different points in the zodiac as well, as all across our solar system. It has 4 different phases you can switch back and forth, viewing our solar system at the current time zone time where you are located, the zodiac position, celestial lines all across the globe and position of the solar system in the universe or as some call it the celestial dance giving you a wider view to explore. In a recent update we can see some of the dwarf planets in our solar system. Every other day I fired up the app and, there was something new to discover in the solar and, moon patterns. One can clearly view every zodiac change with every passing day. The app clearly has a daily adventure for all stargazers. Without any doubt it is one of the finest astrological apps in the market at this time. After a few months of studying the app, of course I made a few people nervous, wondering when I was going to finally write this article. But I had other plans in mind and the app had piqued my interest. There were celestial events coming up and I was intent to find out if Cosmic Watch was going to show me all of them.
The first event I was looking forward to see was the August 2017 meteor shower. I was disappointed to find out the app didn’t even register it. I figured since it did affect Earth, it’d show; I was wrong. Then there was The Solar Eclipse, or as others called it the American Eclipse. I was very pleased to follow the eclipse while I was looking at my very own sky at the real thing. To my amazement the app changed minute by minute showing the eclipse. Another phenomenon I was willing to see, was the weird weather patterns going on right now all around the globe. I knew it was far fetch but as expected I saw no changes on the globe itself. I even went looking for the clear changes on the Caribbean and Florida coast after hurricane Irma reported by NASA on the app but there hasn’t been any changes in the app as of now. Maybe I am asking for too much, but I have always seen the globe as well as space as one.
Overall the app is a work of art. If you are looking for the basics or wish to learn more about celestial sky, I will advise you to purchase the app. You won’t be disappointed when you start studying the app to its full capacity. Happy stargazing and I hope you enjoy the app as much as I have – check out the YouTube video clip below.
