Zenkit Announces Google Calendar Integration
One of my favourite tools for getting stuff done is Google Calendar, and I use it for all of my appointments, reminders, anniversaries and similar. Zenkit has announced that its service now supports Google Calendar Synchronisation option. This is great news as one of the biggest pain points about using Google Calendar is adding stuff to it. In order to organise the things that I need to do, I quickly became a slave to adding appointments. If you manage two or more calendars, for example an office calendar and a personal calendar, one shortcut is to add the other account as a meeting recipient. What the Zenkit integration adds is the ability to automatically add project deadlines, reminders, and similar to the Google Calendar. Zenkit’s new feature makes the process a lot easier when trying to juggle project deadlines with other things going on.
In order to use the Google Calendar sync option, you need to first activate the Google Calendar add-in for your collection. Once this has been activated, you need to authorise Zenkit to connect with your Google Calendar. This is a one-time thing: once activated, you pick a calendar to use. Zenkit recommend adding a new Zenkit calendar to your Google account but you can elect to use your primary calendar, or another existing calendar: it’s your call. Once you have set up the calendar to use, the next step is to connect it to a collection, everything with a due date will automatically be added to your Google Calendar, and synchronised to whatever device or devices you use Google Calendar on. Any changes in either Zenkit or the new Google Calendar are synchronised back to the other service. This animated GIF demonstrates what I mean:
If you use Google Calendar and Zenkit, this is great news! It should make life a lot easier when it comes to tracking deadlines. Better yet, Zenkit is working to include other calendar integrations, with the company explaining they are working to build connections to the Apple Calendar and Outlook Calendar services.
